They first heard about Icing Smiles through a cookie Facebook group they are a part of. After visiting our website and reading about our mission, they fell in love with the organization. Elyssa immediately knew it was something she needed to be a part of. Elyssa recalled running down the hall to tell her husband “We NEED to do this!!”. They signed up to be Sugar Angels and Elyssa has since become a volunteer on the administration side of Icing Smiles as well!

It has been over a year since Elyssa originally signed up to be a Sugar Angel and she’s loved every minute of it. So far, she has given families specially decorated cookies and has created two birthday cakes for celebrations.

Elyssa’s first call to action was a memorable one. The cake was received with hugs and the recipient, Adam, blew her kisses. Elyssa said, “It was truly an amazing feeling”. Elyssa changed the design of the cake three times before she found the right one to suit Adam. She really just took what he requested in mind, and made sure it was extra special! Here at Icing Smiles, we are grateful to have such talented, passionate, and caring Sugar Angels and team members like Elyssa.
