Sugar Angel Meghan Taylor began making custom cakes three years ago for her son’s pre-k graduation cake. From that day on, she started baking and decorating cakes for family and friends. Two years later she started her own custom cake business, I’ll Cake That. Meghan has a passion for making kids smile, and her work as a Sugar Angel is a huge testament to that.

Meghan fulfilled a cake request by the family of Griffin, an adorable little boy who suffers from intractable epilepsy. He is nonverbal so communication with him can be difficult, however, one thing they know for sure is his love of vacuums! For his 10th birthday, they requested a cake in the shape of a vacuum, in what they think is his favorite color, orange!

Meghan was up to the challenge. She came up with a design that featured all of the main components of a vacuum, including a real working light as a special surprise. The light was placed under fondant to dim the bulb a little and was on a motion sensor, so when he walked up to the cake, the light came on! Griffin and his family were so happy with the cake when they picked it up. Meghan said that it feels great to give back, “but it felt even better to see the reaction of him and his family.” Icing smiles is grateful to have such a caring and talented baker like Meghan. She really goes above and beyond!
