While at home under lockdown, we focus on gratitude and recovery

In this current moment, many of us have to adjust to a new normal. We’re readjusting our daily schedules and routines to do what’s best for our community. With all this extra time at home, we can put aside some time to reflect on things we are grateful for and things that truly make us happy. At Icing Smiles, we’re taking this time to think about all of the previous smiles we’ve helped spread over the past 10 years.

Smiles like the big one Benjamin had on his first Liversary!

In 2018, Benjamin was a happy, healthy 7 year old living his life to the fullest. Suddenly, Benjamin was diagnosed with acute liver failure. This was a complete shock to the entire family, as he had been completely healthy up until that point. The sudden news may have rocked the family’s world, but they knew that they had to stay positive and support Benjamin through this scary time.

Luckily, a donor became available just one month later. Benjamin underwent the life saving surgery and started on his journey to recovery, which he is powering through. He’s adjusting to his new lifestyle with a great attitude.

Last December marked his one year “Liversary” of having his transplant. Icing Smiles and Sugar Angel Christie were happy to help mark the milestone with a special cake! The cute cake was a great way to mark such a momentous occasion in the family’s life.

With smiles + cake,

Megan Glynn
