It’s All About the Smiles: From the Hearts of our Medical Families
Please enjoy reading some feedback from the hearts of our medical families!
ZOE
“Zoe was born 9-11-2009 and although we knew she has both copies of the CF gene, we really didn’t know what that meant since none of our families knew of anyone that had it. It was a tough beginning, but Zoe’s cheerful personality and her energy touches the lives of all those around her. Despite the daily treatments, a long list of medicines, and the worry that we carry for what may happen sooner or later, we have the faith and hope that enables us to enjoy the moments we have together and treasure all the more what life has to offer. She is now in 2nd grade and we have celebrated her 8th birthday made more special by Icing Smiles’ contribution. She enjoyed picking a theme and flavor for her cake and was very happy to share it with her friends!”

CALLIE
“Callie was diagnosed January 5, 2016 with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. After her first month of chemo she became very sick and suffered neurotoxicity from one of the chemo treatments which left her unable to sit up, turn over by herself, let alone walk. She also was not able to swallow regular liquids or open her eyes completely. But with over a year and half of intense rehab she now is in preschool, dance class, and going to be starting soccer!”

ANDREW
“Andrew was born with severe combined immune deficiency, and required a stem cell transplant to survive. He is now stable but has had complications throughout this year. He continues with monthly treatments in hoping he developes a normal immune system. His brother who is 2 years old also has the same genetic illness and now he requires a second transplant. Overall they are both stable at the moment and both are happy babies.”

TAYLOR
“Taylor was diagnosed with ALL Leukemia on March 31, 2015. She was only 22 months old when diagnosed! Taylor is 4 years old now and she just finished her hemp treatments on July 20, and was declared cancer free on July 25th. Taylor has so much spunk, sass and is very lovable! She is our little fighter and has so much love and compassion through it all! She has faced life changing events! She has a big brother that she is attached at the hip with and a little sister the she is constantly trying to love on! Taylor has truly been our little hero! She has faced several trials through this! We have become a stronger family through this and her strength to keep fighting! Taylor has had some difficulties through her battle but she has had indescribable strength through it! But she did it and now we are just trying to get through life as normal as possible! She has monthly visits for blood draws for the next year and then they get pushed out gradually after that!”
