It’s All About the Smiles: From the Hearts of our Medical Families
Please enjoy reading some feedback from the hearts of our medical families!
CARTER
“Carter was diagnosed with Leukemia in April of 2016. This was a devastating blow to our family and our career goals. We had just moved to a new area and knew absolutely no one. As his father, I am employed by the Military (US Army). I am away on business/deployments most of the year which made it more stressful on the family. Carter has had the best doctors and best support network in the area and I couldn’t be more grateful. Icing Smiles did an awesome job making my boy smile and extremely happy on his 6th birthday this year as we knock off another year of treatment. Thanks for making this cake for Carter and more importantly thanks for doing what you do for kids across the world.”

DOMINIC
“On February 17, 2017, Dominic had a large mass suddenly appear on his throat and chest. After visiting multiple hospitals and enduring endless panels, tests, biopsies, spinal taps, a bone marrow biopsy, and countless consults, Dominic was diagnosed with stage 3A Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio put a treatment plan in place and we started immediately. Despite enduring four grueling rounds of chemotherapy, nausea, fevers, neutropenia, and blood transfusions, Dominic kept a positive attitude and was an amazing warrior.
On May 18, 2017, Dominic had a CT scan that showed no evidence of disease! He is currently in remission and is looking forward to a fun summer and going back to school. Jessica, our Icing Smiles baker/sugar artist, was wonderful! The Star Wars cake exceeded our expectations, as the design was amazing and the cake tasted delicious! Thank you, Icing Smiles, for making Dominic’s 8th birthday so memorable and special.”

NATHANIAL
“Nathanial suffered a traumatic brain injury when he was 18 months old. Over time many problems developed, including severe epilepsy, hypotonia, left sided weakness, and developmental delays. He also has hypermobility and is frequently sick. We are still searching for more answers, and hope we find some when he sees genetics next month. Nathanial is an amazing inspiration and a light to so many, including his family! We are so thankful to Icing Smiles and Daltons cakes for such a great experience!

SYDNEY
“Sydney was born with Dialated Cardiomypathy, which was diagnosed at 14 days old. She received her heart transplant at 6 weeks old. She had a severe, life threatening, and very rare complication after the transplant. Her Lymphatic system “broke” and needed to be rerouted. We were Life Flighted from the Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia where she underwent a new procedure called a Lymphatic Embolization. This procedure combined with her heart transplant saved her life. After 5 months in the hospital, 4-1/2 months in the CVICU, we were sent home. She is still battling some complications, but overall she is thriving and doing excellent. This was a fantastic experience and our Icing Smiles baker was FABULOUS!!!!!!
